Here in the land down under we're a little ahead of you time wise.

On the 11 Sept. The world REMEMBERS.

There were about thirty Australians (I think) in the Towers that day. Just a drop in the bucket, numerically, to the number of Americans but it strengthens the bonds between us.

My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones that day.

We must NEVER forget.

Rick.

Rick, Since 1917 Aussies and Americans have fought side by side in various places around the world. But for their sacrifice in New Guinea in '42 and '43 we probably would have had an additional 6-12 months of Pacific War. The Aussies serving now in OEF and OIF are exceptional in every endeavour they undertake and I point to Col Rowan Tink as an outstanding example. Thanks for standing with us in something you believe to be worth fighting for...fewer nations than you might think are willing to do same.

I remember being in our Stamford office that day. It's a 20 min drive to Manhattan from there so alot of the patients work in the city or have a spouse who does. I keep the radio off while I work so I had no idea why my schedule was empty for the afternoon until a patient told me. On the way home the reality of it hit as I saw lots of heavy equipment and generator trucks with the huge construction lighting headed to the city. Many who came in after that knew somone or had a relative who worked in the towers. Some were fortunate some were not as they told thier stories of the experience. I have not been to the city in a couple of years but I will go see the memorial when it is finished.
