MSA "Bullet" mirror installed

BadDog

Recommended Posts

Did anyone click on the links I provided above? Some of the genuine Talbot mirrors (chrome on brass) can run up to $330 !! Wow, that's expensive.

BadDog, did you notice these mirrors are difficult to see through the passenger window ? It's almost like the mount arm needs to be extended to get above the window rail.

Yes I do like the car Bad Dog. I just think the mirrors don't go with the car but then if you asked me about the wheels I would say the same thing. To each his own. If it was my car and of course it isn't I would turn the tires around so the lettering is on the inside and put the original hubcaps back on. Now I know this isn't the point of your thread that is the wheels but I am a purist at heart. The original mirros are a pain in the neck I must admit and they are hard to use but they look right in my judgement. Now the stripe I like and years ago many 240zs had stripes on them. Black and white do kudos for your choice there my man, makes the car look great.

Hi

I like to see the mirrors, they look great! It`s your car! Enjoy it as much as possible.

Your car is your car, it must be at your own taste!

May be in the future if you don`t like to see them anymore, just trade for another that you like, is just simple as that!

For those of you that want these mirrors( they're a design copied from the heinously expensive Talbot of Berlin which is used on vintage Italian, German and British marques), the least expensive I've managed to find them is at Finish Line Accessories. Not only are they inexpensive as hell, but you get the extended base and you can order them in convex as well, which greatly increases the viewing area(ideal for the passenger side).

MSA overcharges on a lot of their stuff...

It would be hard to return a birthday gift and your beautiful Z makes anything look good, but for others looking for dual mirrors, may I suggest another option? I installed these 7 years ago after scrounging around a junk yard for who knows what. I came upon a 1985? Chevy Nova (Oldsmobile Omega) and noticed that the mounting contours are similar to the Z. I took them home and sure enough, with a very slight angle variation, they looked like they were made for the Z. They are streamline, sturdy, not plastic and look very period specific, that is, built for that S30 era. I also have the added benefit of having a remote left hand mirror. I have never seen anyone else use these. Just my little contribution.
