peterc Posted September 18, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 18, 2007 Its time to do a rebuild on my '83 ZX. From reading posts in various forums it seems the easiest and least expensive way to improve performance is via an over-bore. Cost to bore and deck (if required) the block here in Ottawa is approximately $250. Black Dragon sells a piston kit (pistons/rods/rings) for $250. Has anyone had any experience with these kits? 240ZMan Posted September 18, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 18, 2007 Last year when I rebuilt my L28 the Black Dragon kit only included pistons and rings (no rods) and the rings were cast iron. I went with a kit manufactured by ITM which includes a Moly top ring for durability. I've been very happy with the results, and it was a little cheaper as well. You might check on ebay as there was a guy selling them this past summer.
