EScanlon Posted October 1, 2007 Share #50 Posted October 1, 2007 The auction that tomocrack is referring to is for THREE rims and not four, plus two have curb rash AND they're for 15x7 rims. Not even a good try, and no cigar.E
TomoHawk Posted October 1, 2007 Share #51 Posted October 1, 2007 Did I suggest that she buy these? NO. I posted the link for reference purposes. GO READ the message E.
EScanlon Posted October 1, 2007 Share #52 Posted October 1, 2007 Did I suggest that she buy these? NO. I posted the link for reference purposes. GO READ the message E.A link to an auction is ALWAYS a suggestion to buy, specifically because it IS an auction and it is time sensitive. As far as reference material, the other wheel thread that shows pictures of many wheel styles has already been linked to, so your reference does not add anything to the thread, nor will it be available in a few weeks when the listing ends and is deleted by e-Bay.As far as reading the message, why don't YOU go read the initial post and subject of the thread. She didn't ask for your thoughts on whether she might change her mind, nor for alternatives, her specific post said: Help me find these wheels. I am in love and will settle for nothing other than these wheels. emphasis mine.Maybe if you took your after lunch nap?E
Darbji280z Posted October 3, 2007 Author Share #53 Posted October 3, 2007 I do love those turbine wheels, guys. I suppose I am always open to suggestion, though. There are another type of wheels in existance I have fallen in love with but I have no idea how to describe them. I was driving through good old Cedar Lake, IN when I saw a 280ZX parked in some dudes front yard. I wipped my Z around and stopped at the guys house to talk to him. It wasn't in great shape but it was still a Z and I hadn't seen one in person since I bought mine. Anyway, I digress. The wheels he had were amazing (although, he would not sell them to me). Maybe I'll go back and take some pictures if I can catch him home. But I still think I am leaning towards those turbine wheels. I love them on the Delorean, and although they are totally different cars, I would love them on the Z. Thanks again for the input and information. I don't know where I would be without you guys. All my love.
sleepyzzz Posted October 3, 2007 Share #54 Posted October 3, 2007 i have found a set of those turbine wheels off of a z, plan on having bead blasted and painted. i have not decided on the color yet, but leaning towards black or maybe silver since my car is going to be red one day. they do look good, but the spindle cap sticking out on the front wheels doesn't look good imo,is there anything to go over that? TomoHawk Posted October 3, 2007 Share #55 Posted October 3, 2007 the 280ZX had spindle cup that don't stick out as far. They were on my 6-spoke ZX wheels. You may be able to use those. But on my Z, I cut off only the ends and glued them to the wheels for a flat look. The downside is that the spare will need the longer cap, or you need to carry one, in case you need to put the spare on the front. Otherwise the spare has a flat cap too.th

All my love.Last night I attended the Z club of San Diego meeting....afterwards in the parking which is were the real meeting is, I noticed that our President Lenny has the Western Turbine wheels on one of his cars. I asked him if he would sell them and he said "no problem". I told him there was a nice looking girl in Indiana that was looking for a set and he said have her call me. Lenny can be contacted via the website: http://www.zcsd.org/. If interested contact Lenny he will sell them to you.

All she has to do to get a smokin' deal is to make sure people see a picture of her wearing something slinky, and the negotiations get real easy.I've tried the same tactic, but it doesn't work. When I show up to buy a car or some parts wearing high heels and lace, they run away. The world is so unfair.....
