Posted September 27, 200717 yr comment_222929 Thinking that there were headlight gaskets in there originaly a quick search turned up that there ARE gaskets but NLA and no one really saying what to use or what they had luck with, so I just made some out of an old inertube. First I made a stiff paper pattern of where it went (fender side) using masking tape in places to hold it. And then using razor blades to cut it out in place, keeping a good clean sharp line on the outside edge, just recesed a little below the top of the fender. Took an old inertube and cut it up so it was flat and about the same thickenss overall, 1.2 mm to 1.7 mm. Placed the pattern on the rubber, taped it down and traced it with an ink pen, making sure the outside edge was nice and smooth. Using a board and a thumbtack to hold the rubber I very carefully cut out where marked with SHARP razor blades on the outside (visible) edge. Marked the holes from the pattern and used a paper hole punch on them, the perfect size. Put it in place and looks great. All of this from paper to post was under 4 hours, and 3 trips here and there. Making something I can't purchase makes me happy.
