AndysPlit Posted October 5, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 5, 2007 $300? Wow, I feel jipped from nearly 10 years ago. I bought mine from Precision Z in Canoga Park, CA for a whopping $600!! They were in very nice shape though. Tell me, was I ripped off?

I got my 6 spoke ZX wheels from a salvage yard for $180 with all centercaps and very few scratches. Pics in my gallery. I guess it depends on how rare they are where you live and how much you want em.

In LA, I can't imagine they're as rare as somewhere a bit more rural. Then again, I didn't shell out $45K on a modified 73 240.
Walter Moore Posted October 6, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 6, 2007 I bought mine on Ebay, several years ago. Don't recall how much I paid, but they had to be shipped from Hawaii to Indiana, so the shipping was a little steep. I had to strip the old clear coat off of them, and then clean them 6 times before I was able to polish them up to where they looked halfway decent. Then I re-clear coated them. That was a lot of work. $600 sounds like a bargain now...

Funny thing is, I rememeber thinking that I was making an upgrade on my suspension back then. "Yeah, I've got 15" wheels from a ZX, baby!" was my initial feeling. Truth is 15" is nothing these days. I only will hold onto them now because they're rare and very cool looking.
hls30.com Posted October 8, 2007 Share #9 Posted October 8, 2007 I just checked out my ZXT rims, one wheel has some very shallow curb rash-nothing deeper than a couple of thousands, so they would clean up very well. The clear is discolored and coming off, but aside from the clear issues, and the one slight scrub to one rim, I see no issues. This is the worst rim-and the only one with a centercap. The rims have not been even wiped down. Tomorrow I'll give them a quick bath and take a better picture with all of them laid out. Will
