Is this Z worth $45,000

I saw this 1973 Z going for $45,000. What makes a 1973 z be worth this much money?
It's not worth that much to me. Nice car, but a bit over the top, and not to my taste. But that's just me. I wish him luck selling it.

"going for $45,000"... NOT What you see is someone "offering to sell" his Z for $45,000. You will also note that there are NO Takers...

What makes a 1973 z be worth this much money?

A 73 Datsun 240-Z with less than 1K miles, perfectly preserved in the same condition it came off the Showroom Floor - - might bring $45K today. It would have to be 100% perfect....

FWIW,

Carl B.

A nice car to take pride in, but too owner specific in its completion. The sellers pride in the car is only valuable to him and perhaps his family, most people won't pay for it after the fact unless it is their vision that is built.

Since the air dam is urethane the alignment may not be a big deal as the whole thing flexes. The bolts that hold it on are hidden behind the bumper and it may be a matter of loosening them a bit and sliding the dam forward. You could enlarge or even drill a new hole if needed. I'd be far more concerned about alignment of the doors or other metal panels. That being said, since the fix is so easy I don't see why it wasn't done before taking the ad pictures. I'd also be surprised for it to get anywhere near the asking price.
