I don't want to downplay such craftsmanship.... It is a very nice car (and a lot of hard work I might add), but, it's not going to sell for that price.

personally I think what makes the whole car look a little wonky are the rims.

Its a nice car, lots of effort must have gone into it,

but theres a honda on cinder blocks somewhere that misses its wheels...

If it had some Panasports,or Watanabes it would probably look a lot more serious, & maybe get a little more for it

but I dont think its worth nearly as much as he's asking

I can't believe all the negative! It's not a "1973 Z" it's the Best of Show from the 2006 Z Nationals. It's a show car. For comparison sake, do a search and have a look at ZRush. This has nothing to do with original, Carl. This is a custom car. I would suppose that your Baja, being a very unoriginal (what? '72?), is worth no more than $2,500? Seriously! Compare it to ZRush. Personally, I think ZRush is much finer. But then ZRush is (in fact) worth twice the $45 grand this guy is asking.

If you go to the fourways engineering site in the UK and check out the zed there i think a little copying maybe, but the fourways car is a gem this car whilst it is the owners dream car, well not worth it, stock brakes cut down springs wizz week engine .Tell him he's DREAMIN.

That statement might be a little too broad. There are Z's worth far more than $45K today. I'd expect to see a few pure stock first generation Z's hitting that mark in the near future as well.

I have to agree with Carl (all though who the hell am I?!!! ) - the Z is slowly getting it's due. In fact, Nissan in general is - I recently saw a Nissan NPT-90 /91 for sale at $750,000.

While this is a bit OT, a comparable GTP / prototype - outside of a Ferrari 333SP - would not be that high. This was a first class repro, but much of the value lies in it's significance and how Nissan dominated the IMSA GTP classes over Ford, Chevy, Jaguar, Porsche, Toyota, et al.

Early in my mebership here I posted about the reason for the value of a low vin car, my point was that anything making up the car could be reproduced, so Vins should not be important. This thread has changed my mind, what is so valuable about Carls Baja and Zrush(other than the actual beauty of the cars) is the history they have been a part of. I bet Carl has every article his car has been mentioned in ,and damn near every photograph! ZRush has an extensive history in the Z circuit. Neither of these cars was built to sell after winning the two awards the owner of the '73 admits to being after. Building a car to sell is more lucrative when its design has input from the person paying for it. There are too many modified Zs that pride has priced into being for sale for years, but not effectively being for sale at all-my belief is this is another one of those. A nice car that will sit until the owner realizes that nobody pays for pride unless they direct the work.
