August 10, 200222 yr comment_12485 I have a 240 with a 260 engine in it. BTW--I'd rather have a 260 steering wheel. Anyone know where to get one? Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2577-only-240s/#findComment-12485 Share on other sites

August 11, 200222 yr comment_12502 A Z is a Z. Most of us tolerate and even admire some ZX's but they're not Z 's...... It's kind of like comparing a '58 Chevy to a '57... sure the '58 is a nice car but it is no '57.. Dogs may love trucks but Marty loves his 240Z... August 11, 200222 yr Author comment_12523 As IONMAN said, "A Z IS A Z" I'm glad to see that there are other 260's out there. What with all the talk and pic's of 240's I was beginning to feel awfully lonely. 1974 Bronze 260 Z Sports Coupe Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2577-only-240s/#findComment-12523 Share on other sites
August 11, 200222 yr comment_12525 A Z is a Z. But my 240 has a ZX engine, tranny, and rear end. Does that make it a ZY? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2577-only-240s/#findComment-12525 Share on other sites
August 11, 200222 yr comment_12528 I think that the 260Z is the most collectable Z simply because of it's rarity. (in the US) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2577-only-240s/#findComment-12528 Share on other sites
August 11, 200222 yr comment_12535 I have a 280 and I like the 280's more than 240's (ducks as members boo and throw food at the stage) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2577-only-240s/#findComment-12535 Share on other sites
August 11, 200222 yr comment_12550 Zed says, "I think that the 260Z is the most collectable Z simply because of it's rarity. Well, all I have to say is that Ford Pinto's are becoming rare these days, doesn't exactly make them collectable. Seriously, only one year of U.S. distribution makes for a serious lack of devotion from consumers. Here today gone tomorrow. True collectability only comes from the desire of those willing to part with the cash for the item not solely from the limited nature of the item. my $.02 but enjoy your 260 to the max! August 11, 200222 yr comment_12551 Nothing wrong with the 260z or 280z, both are great cars and very little difference (visually), it's just that the 240z is older, faster, and generally more in demand. As for zx, I personaly think nissan/datsun only got it right with the 89+300zx's, but still the zx's are better than anything else that is not a z.
