red_dog007 Posted October 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 9, 2007 Well I have struts, and am going to be order springs here soon. Is there anything else that I should order for my suspension swap? Like brushings, spacers, bolts, ect.
Arne Posted October 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 9, 2007 Bump stops for certain. Two boxes of Energy Suspension part number 7.6104G (graphite-impregnated black) or 7.6104R (red poly). If your brake hoses are not up to snuff, do them now also, as you'll have them all apart anyway.
twsutt Posted October 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 9, 2007 KYB makes some strut dust boots that have a built in bump stop. SummitRacing.com carries them for a pretty decent price (click here) or you may be able to find them elsewhere cheaper.I believe that the Z's originally came with a dust boot. Arne Posted October 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 9, 2007 I believe that the Z's originally came with a dust boot.I believe 280Zs had the boot, but 240Zs did not. Boots are OK, but not required unless you are driving in really nasty road conditions.
red_dog007 Posted October 9, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted October 9, 2007 Will need to check out those bump stops and add those to the list. I already got a set of rack boots. My 240z has them and one was eaten through or something, so I got a set replacement.Brake hoses, I am going to try to get the ss lines if I can. I am redoing these completely and for the front I already have 4x4 calipers. Anything else that I will need?
Arne Posted October 9, 2007 Share #6 Posted October 9, 2007 Anything else that I will need?Hard to say for certain. You might want to consider having a pair of front strut bearings on hand, just in case. Not much else that you might run into while doing struts only. If you were doing the rest of the suspension too... well, that's a different story.
