*** Please note that the head is showing signs of rust and MAY need welding in the combustion chamber.

sounds like the rust is on the hardware, though

pun not intended :)

This is the seller formerly known as URGellis-his quality is inconsistent as are his descriptions. You might get a silk purse, you might get a sows ear... There are several threads about his inconsistence(search Urgellis or bad ebayers list), including one he responded to once, and chose to ignore after that, I know what that tells me, but read the facts in the threads and draw our own conclusions about sending him money!

Can someone explain to me how a "Completely rebuilt" cylinder head could need welding on the combustion chamber?

When I had my E31 rebuilt the welding that it needed to repair the damage from a bad head gasket was part of the price.

For the record, my experience with 240Z parts from Ebay has been nearly universally bad. (one or two successes, all the rest were junk)

In the top picture you'll see that the exhaust valve in #2 and intake in #3 are open. In the bottom picture you'll see the head sitting flat on the table used to take the picture. Unless he removed the rockers between pictures, he rested the head on the valves. Good way to bend them, no matter how gently he set it down.

I'd stay away from this one, unless you have an extra set of valves and lash pads to use when replacing the valves.

Over the past five years or so, 'datsun-parts' has also been known as 'ur-gelis', 'bad-mfr', 'absolutely-ghetto', and '2602nv'. I purchased once from him as 'bad-mfr' and without going into detail I'll just say it was a bad experience. Word should be spread about people like him. But as Will says, draw your own conclusions. I just know that I'd never even think of buying anything from him again.

More Datsun 240Z 280Z New NOS Triple Weber Manifold & Carbs That are not NOS, NEW, or RARE-what a little boy...

Is it just him, or is it absolutley amazing that he just paid $300 a week ago to have these NEW NOS Tripple webber manifolds and carbs rebuilt and they still look new! I'd hate to think what they will look like when a buyer gets them...if the seller is that suprised they still look new only a week after rebuilding those NOEW NOS tripples and manifold. Make you wonder at his expectations and how they differ from those of the rest of us...

looks and sounds more like he media blasted them, and did not coat the bare metal, so there will be a corrosion party waiting to happen when they sit in the open air for any period of time-he knows better and sells what he chooses not to do better with...buyer beware...

Except for the fact that neither the manifold nor the carbs are neither NOS issan parts nor rare...both are readily available from several sources.

This guy has been in Zs for a good while and evidently has had several cars in shows, meaning he knows what a good part is, and isn't-yet he is more than happy to blur the difference when selling one for the other. That is the practice of a dishonest person, and not a mistake by someone who does not know better.
