Posted October 13, 200717 yr comment_224303 This may be of interest to those looking for a low VIN Z for restoration. Car looks pretty rough but has a crack free dash and quite an array of no longer obtainable Datsun body parts. Here's the link to the pics. http://www.divshare.com/download/1945882-503 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/ Share on other sites

October 13, 200717 yr comment_224329 That car has been listed in the classified ads on this site for a couple of weeks now. http://www.classiczcars.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=2206&cat=1It does look like it has some hard to find repair panels and some of the original 69 specific parts, but it would be a lot of work.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/#findComment-224329 Share on other sites
October 13, 200717 yr comment_224335 Sure does need alot of work. One for the low vin loving guys. I expect you could get a higher vin Z in pretty good condition for that price. I expect you could get a higher vin Z in pretty good condition for that price.VINs aren't everything, particularly in this case....if it really has a 2.6 in it, then a lot of its value is lost in lacking matching numbers for the engine.Very true, though...one could get a MUCH better starting point for restoration with that kind of money.$0.02,Steve Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/#findComment-224346 Share on other sites

October 13, 200717 yr comment_224353 The ad says 2.6 but the valve cover is vin correct. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/#findComment-224353 Share on other sites
October 13, 200717 yr comment_224355 The ad says 2.6 but the valve cover is vin correct. They probably just kept the original valve cover when they replaced the engine. When I bought #331, it had the original numbers matching block and the 2400 valve cover, but the E31 head had been replaced with a later E88 at some point.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/#findComment-224355 Share on other sites
October 13, 200717 yr comment_224356 What would the engine number be on number 59? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/#findComment-224356 Share on other sites
October 13, 200717 yr comment_224361 What would the engine number be on number 59?If you look at Carl's zhome.com site you will see that the early engine numbers were not consecutive with the VINs, and there was a fairly wide range. Probably between 2100 and 2400 would be my guess, but it could even be a couple hundred higher.-Mike Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25834-1969-240z-hls30-00059-for-sale/#findComment-224361 Share on other sites
