October 13, 200717 yr comment_224339 If its an ET it would have a turbo hanging off the exhaust manifold. Pretty hard to miss. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25838-i-need-help-for-my-280-zx/#findComment-224339 Share on other sites

October 14, 200717 yr comment_224471 Before you start planning any sort of upgrade (turbo or supercharger) you must go through EVERYTHING THAT GOES BAD like vacuum lines, filters, fuel, plugs, electrical connections, connections in general, clean your injectors, clean your gas tank, check your fuses,...Once you get it running as it should, then start considering upgrades.Or, you could just pull the engine and replace it with a built engine, but for that you will find more info at hybridz.comWelcome to the site, and congratulations on the free zx! October 14, 200717 yr comment_224495 Here's an overhead photo of my engine bay. If you have a turbo engine, you will notice several obvious differences (namely the turbo unit itself and the different valve cover). October 14, 200717 yr comment_224499 You were asking how to tell what engine you have . The block should have cast on the side F-54. This tells you it is a ZX block the head has markings , P-79 which is a NA head , P-90 or 90a are turbo heads. The 90a has hydraulic lifters. If it is a NA engine it has flat to pistons the Turbo has dished pistons.
