Pics of Weathershields

Well, here we go,

Some time ago, I mentioned that, with the help of Kiwi Mike, I had found a firm that supplies weathershields for Zeds.

I purchased one for either side. That was a few weeks ago. I finally got around to fitting one to the dvrs side, (your passenger's side), and hope to post them here. As I've only fitted one side, I've taken a couple of pics of the unfitted one as well.

I've got a new, high tech scanner/copyer that does just about everything but put the cat out at night and I'm still learning how to use the damned thing so, .... here goes.

I'll let you know how well they work mate. Problem is, I'll have to wait until next time it rains and around this neck of the woods only the Big Bloke upstairs knows when that'll be. It certainly cuts down on the wind though.

If you had had those on while racing that chook, you could have reached out an snatched the little beauty for supper!

I thought you were talking about a piece that stuck out from the car about an inch when installed. How far do those extend?

With those, I don't think you'll get any water in under all but the worst conditions. Are they set up to stay on the car, or come on and off?

Looks like you may be able to do away with the door glass altogether. Just kidding. If you are a smoker I can see that they would be a good addition. They look like there well made. Gazza

You must have a bloody good memory and like my jokes.

They're held on by the little clips that fit into the window channel, with a small nut and bolt onto the plastic. Easy to take off, no glue or double sided tape etc.

Your comments leads me to think that such things are not used all that much over there. Those thin, narrow bits of plastic you refer to are about as much use as a hip pocket in a singlet. Standing at the front of "Precious" and looking down the side of the car, it does not extend out as far as the rear view mirror or the door handle.

I've always had them fitted to every car I've owned. They cut down the wind to the extent that my hair doesn't get mussed up.

They're also very handy in light rain, allowing the windows to be half way down. (Or half way up, depending on how you look at it).

When I finally get around to fitting the weathershield on the passenger side, (your dvrs side), I'll try taking pics from the front and rear view.

at the first moment I couldn't figure out why would you get it, but from your last reply I understand what is it all about..

if you use your car as your daily driver, then I think it is usefull.

but from the appearance point of view, they look wierd man, they look big don't they?

don't take it in a negative way, but I think the car looks better without them.

maybe I'm wrong.

I get the feeling that those are a "one try and you'll wonder how you ever got along with out them" kinda things. They look so different from the thin strips we have over here, but there again in the sticks function is more important than looks-and in reality they are clear and unless you are looking for them, not all that noticeable, couple that with the remove ability factor, and if they were available here, and I'd give 'em a go.

As to your jokes, usually they are much like a Krystal (White Castle) the memory makes a craving...and I am laughing too hard to reply immediately, and usually there is a wee one needing Daddy's attention to pull me from replying-but you have absolutely posted some "knee slappers"

could this weathershield be made to suit the lines and curves of zed i love weathershields to me it looks a bit squarish if it could i want one
