I don't know what I want to buy,because everytime I turnaround someone has got something diff. I just read an article that a guy had a 240 with 17 X9.5 inch rims with no upgrades other than I am assuming spacers. Is this a missprint everything in motorsport is a 7 inch rim.

I like the look of the 16in pannasports, but for the same amount of money I could really get a nice tire/rim combo, I just don't know where the red tape is as far as how wide and tall I can go?? I haven't called motosport yet I'm sure they have some valuable info, just figured I would start here. Any information would be appreciated, applications that you have done that have worked successful ect.

There many variables that will dictate what fits and what will not fit.......suspension set-up (std or coilover), ride height, etc., etc. However, I have 17x9 wheels with 235-40 tires rear and 17x8 wheels with 215-40 tires front. No mods to original body and my ride height is less than 4". The rears are at the limit with my set-up...any larger or taller profile tires would cause rubbing at the rear. The fronts are not an issue....still have room to go with bigger tires but haven't because it would take away from the overall stance and look I wanted to achieve. There are no difinitive answers, you just have to figure it out....like most have had to do!

i had 17X8's with 235/45's and had to roll the fenders.. but they fit..the rear barely fit.. they had like 5 inches of back spacing if i remember

More than a 4.5" back space and you will need coilovers. more than 4.5" of front space and you will need to roll your fenders or go to flares. So an 8"x17" wheel would be the biggest you could run (with a 0 offset) and a stock suspension and body. The front might need to stay at 7.5" in width. A 9.5" wheel would need flares and/or coilovers depending on the offset.

17x7 is pretty narrow. The reason MSA sells a lot of rims that size because they are selling you wheels made for Honda's with adapters.

If you want the same size all around you can easily go 8.5" width all around with coilovers (will probably require rolling). If not than 7.5" or 8" will work. You can go with a staggered setup, but it's probably not the best for all around performance (too much push).

I installed 17x7's and quickly tired of them and wanted to fit as much tire as possilbe without installing flares. I really like my new setup with 18x8.5 on the front and 18x9.5 in the back. It's definitely not easy to fit, but for me and my 360+ rwhp it's worth it.

I had 17x8's with a 5 in backspace in the rear with 215/40's, with about 1/4 to half inch clearance between the spring perch.
