Went to painter, finally!!

After sitting in the barn/garage for 27 years (see avitar) my car is at Painter Ray's. The flatbed came yesterday to pick it up. The driver commented this was one fast car, he remembered them for that. I followed it out to Ray's, unloaded it and pushed it in a stall. An older gentelman came over and asked what it was and I told him. He just grunted and said it "looks faster en' hell." The flatbed driver said "It is, take my word for it." A little later a 20's something delivery guy looks at it and asks if it is a 260 or 280? I told him it was a 240. He looked puzzled and said "Never heard of that one."

Now for the joys of a small town. My little sis and Ray were in the same class, some years ago he had some real estate he had to unload and sis bought it. When I asked Ray if I could help in the entire prosess he said no to everyone else, but since my family helped his, he would allow me to help whenever I wanted to. So now I get a paint job and get to learn the prosess from start to finish.

With what work has been done he thinks this will take under a week. Pics will follow when done.

A Week? Just for paint, that's a long time. For disassembly, prime/blocking filling, etc., it's a very short time. And after paint, there's wet sanding, buffing, reassembly, etc.

My Z was "promised" in 4 weeks. It's been 8. It's gonna be out tomorrow if'n I have to steal it!

Hope Ray is right.

After waiting 27 years to get this done, a day or two faster or slower won't bother me.

My advise, don't steal your stuff back. A guy got in trouble not to long ago for that, and you are in TX, they don't think highly of "Law Breakers". I know from experience.
