November 8, 200717 yr Author comment_227778 Alright..., Heres What Happened.... I took off the Intake and Exhaust Manifold and sure enough, wrong gasket. First I had to take off the Intake Man from the Cylinder head but which was still attached to the Exhaust Man by the EGR Tube. LUCKILY FOR ME i haed cracked the tube trying to unbolt it, so I pulled the Intake towards me then rocked it up and down making the crack wider like a credit card. Rose it up one more time then pulled towards me in a half turn and twisted it off at the crack counter clocke wise. Exhaust manifold was next after taking off the exhuast pipe at the Y joint. Sure nuff there was a square exhaust port, non FI, carberetor version gasket on my car. The Fuel Injectors were squirting right on the side of the gasket with so much force ,or so long, it wore off the rubber on it down to the metal part. Leaving a silver hump right above the Intake hole cut outs. Tahing off the gasket theres Square shaped exhuast dust on the head. Put my finger in the Exhaust Ports and came out with black soot like a Bar-B-Q grille Well anyway I'll post pics soon as I can. ~Z~ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25947-fuel-injection-port-blocked-solid/?&page=3#findComment-227778 Share on other sites
November 8, 200717 yr comment_227782 I'd put the right manifold gasket on, due a compression test, and if all reads good - Happy Times. Think attempting to play with the head could do more harm than good unless you're confident you can do it right. I remember doing the head gasket on my 810 coupe when i was 17 and due to not removing gasket properly/ probably not tensioning correctly either, had to put it in the shop to get it done properly.Just saying I'd wait till you really think it needs it. November 8, 200717 yr Author comment_227814 Your all right guys, I'll get off that Cylinder Head idea. And order the new EGR Tube from Nissan, Reasemble and go from there as suggested. I'll update as progress is made of course. Word of advice, if you order a new Water Temperture Sensor from MSA don't tighten it to tight. I was installing a new one of those aswell and the hex part of the bolt twisted off leaving it connected only by the "sensor" thing inside. So I had to take that out and put the old one back in. Thyank goodness for the return policy Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/25947-fuel-injection-port-blocked-solid/?&page=3#findComment-227814 Share on other sites
