zbane Posted October 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 21, 2007 Carl, I hope you don't mind that I have reposted your scan of the BSR Catalog. I was quite happy to finally know where the cladding for the '83 Bob Newman car came from, as I quite like that kit. So, I looked up Kaminari on google and found the website. Alas, they are no longer distributing the kit for my zx, but the do have kits for the S30's. Just thought some folks might like to know. http://www.kaminari.com/products.htm
MikeW Posted October 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 21, 2007 I was quite happy to finally know where the cladding for the '83 Bob Newman car came from, as I quite like that kit.Are you sure the race car used that same kit? My guess would be that the kit was styled to look like the car. After all most body kits seem to just add extra weight by bonding new panels over the existing panels. Still, I am happy to know that kits were available for the s130 that look pretty cool.
ktm Posted October 21, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 21, 2007 I am installing a Kaminari front air dam on my car today.
zbane Posted October 21, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted October 21, 2007 Good luck with the install, and do post photos! Comments on quality and any sizing/molding issues would be beneficial to all.
bartman Posted October 22, 2007 Share #6 Posted October 22, 2007 I'm using the Kaminari front air dam and side skirts on my 73 240Z. I am very happy with the quality and fit. I was able to install them without any modifications to the front air dam and very minimal trimming on the side skirts.
ktm Posted October 24, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 24, 2007 I second Bartman's comments. I've been tied-up with all the fires in my area, but I did get the airdam on without having to do any trimming. The fitment is great. You do have to do a little bit of drilling for the turn signal mounting holes, etc., but that is it.The fiberglas quality is top notch, much better than the $200 kits MSA sells. I'll post pictures later this week when I finally get home.
Fun_in_my_z Posted October 24, 2007 Share #8 Posted October 24, 2007 How about pricing?
ktm Posted October 24, 2007 Share #9 Posted October 24, 2007 The airdam costs $330ish F.O.B. You can expect about $80 to $100 for shipping.
