75 280Z interior redone

Hey,

I am considering having my interior redone. I am in the process of removing the tar from my interior and fix minor rust spots and then have it paint with por-15 before I take it to a shop to have the custom carpet kit install. I am planning on having the interior installation done at Z car garage in San Jose, CA. My current question is that I had a quote over the phone for around 1k and the fellow said that for that price the work includes: tar removal (which I am doing so I can get it painted with por-15), sound deadening installation on all the panels including doors, and then laying the carpet kit over it (price varies depending on which kit, however the one I wanted is about 1k). Just wondering if you guys had experience with these guys at Z Car Garage and is that a fair price for the work? Below is a picture of ZCG's Zs with the carpet kit that I like.

If the price includes removal of the tar I would say yes ...

Tar removal took me at least 3 - 6 hour days to get it done right ...

then my sound insulation was about $250, bquite.com

Full Carpet kit was $250

Por-15 isn't included in the price but I will say should defiantly be used.

So your paying around 500 bucks for him to do all the sound insulation and tar removal ... if done right it's about 24 to 28 hours of work (more or less depending on your level of perfection and degree at which you remove stuff.

So you are looking at a rate of 20 to 17.80 an hour that you are paying him to do the work ... since this person has done hit before it will probably look better than if you did it. (I don't know who is doing the work, but experience makes things SOOO much easier) ... the short of the long, 1k sounds pretty cheap if you don't have the time and don't want to do it yourself.
