Arne - that was exactly the answer i was looking for. I'm probably going to separate the tires and put them on eBay.

As for the wheels i think i will restore/polish them up and then decide whether to sell them or keep them and put some modern tires on them. They are actually in excellent condition and just have minor tarnishing that will polish away with some metal polish.

If I do decide to keep them what size tire would be most appropriate for a series 1 240z in order to keep the speedo correct? What is the most common tire size you guys run? I would really love to get some lower profile tires if at all possible.

Lower profile is the part that changes the speedo, unless you use larger diameter wheels as well. Best 14" sizes for an early Z to maintain reasonable speedo accuracy are 195/70-14 and 215/60-14. The 215/60s are wider and just a touch shorter. I have the 195/70s on mine.

I think I may be purchasing some stock zx wheel here pretty soon. I am going to wait until I find exactly what I want and in prestine condition before I spend any incredible amount of money. I just need something that's not as hideous as the wheels I have now. Plus the car is going up for the winter in the next week so I'm depressed and my eagerness has lightened up.

Hi Newspeed - welcome aboard - I use the 195 70r 14s you can still get the BFG radial TA at a pretty good price if you shop around. It's a very good tire for daily street use.
