Posted October 27, 200717 yr comment_226430 I am looking for a radiator surge tank for my 240Z. I thought about just buying some tubing and using a glass bottle. Does MSA or Black Dragon a surge tank with tubing? Any thoughts? October 27, 200717 yr comment_226433 One could always check the local junkyards for a unit that could easily be adapted to your needs. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26038-radiator-surge-tank-for-240z/#findComment-226433 Share on other sites
October 27, 200717 yr comment_226436 I see them on eBay from time to time...same thing for the bracket that holds the overflow tank. Blast the bracket with your blasting media of choice and have it painted or powder coated and it should last you for quite some time...might be able to find one in a pick-and-pull in your area...found a picture showing the items required if you want to try and locate them piece by piece... webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26038-radiator-surge-tank-for-240z/#findComment-226436 Share on other sites

I see the brackets all the time but the tank is always gone. I do have a extra bracket I will never use if you find a tank and need the bracket. October 28, 200717 yr comment_226514 I bought one from Advance Auto that just barely fits in the space at the left front of the engine bay:http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=23210&cat=500&ppuser=3035I am not sure how similar it is to the part that Motorsport sells, but it looks about the same.I am not sure that it is really needed. My radiator stays full, and there isn't much fluid in that tank. October 28, 200717 yr comment_226540 I've got a spare surge tank from a ZX that you would be welcome to have for shipping. You would need to find or fabricate a mounting bracket like in post #3. Also, if you wished, you could rig up a low level indicator light since the tank I have has the float and wiring for such a thing.
