RolfSis Posted October 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 29, 2007 Wowie Zowie! Lots of extras on that car, but definitely looking nifty. Curious what it means on the eBay ad you posted above that says "inspected" .... any idea? I ask because I'm helping my brother sell his 1971 240Z also a California native car, and we've taken it to a shop for work/inspections before selling but don't know about that "inspected" thing. We may also post at eBay, but exploring the options, so wanted to bug you and ask.Just did some creative fixes to keep our purchase price at $4100 for this '71 240Z, and more to do, but clearly the experts at this site who take restoring these treasures seriously would not patch things up as I have, they'd replace things. These are my work-arounds.I guess it would be only right to add updates, since I stepped into this thread with my driver's seat issues. All were fine, except the bottom of the driver's seat was wiped out by the sun, so in staying with our goal to keep $s down yet maintain original as much as possible so we can fix things and sell it without raising price, we were creative. Here are the updates.http://www.asta.bizhosting.com/OctoberUpdates-2.htmMore to be done, but what an adventure. All I need to do now is figure out the fuse box info, so I can see why the windshield wipers which were fine the other day aren't as fine this morning. Thinking it's a fuse, maybe. Thanks for your help.
WingZr0 Posted October 29, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2007 I don't know, looks like a paint and body job to me. The paint says 20,000 but the engine says 10 :bandit:
Sailor Bob Posted October 29, 2007 Share #5 Posted October 29, 2007 As we have discussed many times - you can ask whatever you want. It is only worth what someone is "actually" willing to pay for it.
AndysPlit Posted October 29, 2007 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2007 1 offer was declined. I was taught to shop smart.
janaka Posted October 29, 2007 Share #7 Posted October 29, 2007 i wouldn't sell my Z for less than $15,000-20,000 as it sits now... and mine is in equivalent shape to that (better in the engine bay by far).to each their own. it takes a certain person to be able to appreciate a NICE CLEAN Z. Mine was appraised at $15,000 locally, but as said above you can ask all you want its what a buyer will pay is what its real "worth" is.for less than that I'd rather just keep the car as I couldn't buy/make a nicer car for that kind of money. mars23z Posted October 29, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted October 29, 2007 I didnt mean to say the car wasnt nice. I just meant my car is as nice or nicer and I would take less then that for mine if I was to sell it. On the other hand I dont want to sell mine so if I had to I would probably ask a high amount for mine as well. It is nice to see Zs bringing big money. I guess ive seen so many on e-bay that appear to be as nice for under $10,000 so I thought that sounded a little high, but as was said before its all in what the buyer will pay. I hope he does get $20,000 for his. Anyone interested in an orange early 74 with 84,000? $20,000 takes it .

EScanlon Posted October 30, 2007 Share #12 Posted October 30, 2007 Since this is split into two threads, I'll just summarize my reply from the other thread:You guys have it ALL wrong!I HOPE, I PRAY, I WISH this guy will get the $20k he's asking.Heck, if he were to get it FAST it would be beneficial to us all.2¢E
