janaka Posted November 5, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2007 ok so my wife and i have had our '76 280Z for almost a year (won on ebay on christmas eve last year) and I'm itching to buy another one already. i just love this car, its crazy. Something about it just makes me smile every time I see it. Anyway is it bad I want another one? With how the dollar is trading right now its hard to not buy one... i just would need somewhere to store it as we have 3 cars as it is and our driveway/garage is full already... :stupid: i think i need to move to a house with more garage space. hls30.com Posted November 6, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 6, 2007 A used car hauler is a good second garage-it gets around most neighborhood covenants and all building permit/land use requirements. They can be bought cheeper than a similar sized wood portable building It can be climate controlled and fully insulated for around $700, and though not really big enough to do everything in, quite a bit can be done, left in progress. unlike a conventional garage, moving it as difficult as renting a truck and hooking it up, or as easy as hooking up your own or a borrowed truck. DeMoore Posted November 6, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2007 Welcome to the happy addiction. I'm only 24 and I just bought my third today. It's a 77. There is something about the Z, isn't there?
DatsunZsRule Posted November 6, 2007 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2007 I thought that too how it would be cool to have a second 1st gen. Z but being that I live in the north where I have to deal with the sh!tty winter season I'm only able to drive my blue baby during late spring and summer and thats it. Spring/summer sails by soooo fast. It would be tough to give 2 Z's equal amounts of attention both wrenching on them and driving them. So for this reason, I made the decision to just have the one. My Blue baby gets my full attention I think she appreciates that too I store mine at a real secure storage facility during winter. Good luck in your 2nd search if you decide to get another one. It's worth it if you live down south and can have them out year round and have more time.
red_dog007 Posted November 6, 2007 Share #7 Posted November 6, 2007 I always find myself looking around for really anything Datsun. Truck, roadster, 4-door, Z, whatever. I just want more! Even an 80's 300zx. I try justifying the purpose of more than one, but it is hard to truly convince myself. Maybe a truck or 4-door when my S10 dies? Drop an SR in there and I just be good.
