What tire size do you guys recommend? It appears that 175X60X14 tires have very limited availability. Anybody got a good source for this size. If not what size and brand do you recommend?

I recently got 195x70/R14's. I wanted to go higher like 205, 215, or 225 but I heard that you can scrap your tires up front when turning. I didn't like that at all. I could have gone wider in the rear, but I couldn't find a good performance tire that was the same make/model for both sizes. I would have had different sets of tires and I do not like that idea one bit.

So I bought 4 of these.

I've got 2256014 Yokohama A509's on my 78. The don't scrape during turns or at any other time. The key is probably the wheels you put them on.

I have 195/70/14's on the Lime car, and 195/65/15's on the Yellow car. Both fit very well, and the speedo is also accurate (checked with GPS).

What Tire do you guys recommend for a 17x7 wheel?

I'm not sure what would fit but I saw a rim and tire combo package that

comes with a 205/40/17 tire with the above rim size.

on the Calculator in post #1 I put

195/60/14 as stock

215/60/14 as what I have now

205/40/17 for the wheel tire combo

When I press compare tire sizes button it says,

"WARNNING, when changing tire sizes we recommend

staying within 3% of the original tire size, any more than

that and you risk BREAK FAILURE!"

Also I've been trying to find this thing called "The Wheel Tool" on the

net which I saw advertised in a car mag within the last month.

Cost about $20 bucks,

It said you can put this on in place of your wheel and test offset, Rim Size

and Backspace clearance.

And with the "loop" thingy you can simulate the tire size also to help you

order the correct rims ahead of time / the first time.

Anyone heard or seen that yet, I've been trying to find it?

Don't see how you can risk "break failure" if your tire diameters are 3% or greater... I have used the 1010 tire calculator when sizing snow tires, and actually opted for the 3% larger tire choice, as the 65 series profile tires are cheaper than the 60 series versions...Note your speedo will be off by the % calculated....

Never heard of the wheel tool thingy :-)
