Err...that would be a Saab. I'm working on the scan right now.

It sure is a Saab, BOO HOO HOO... :rambo: LOL

Na, really though I was trying to remember the name right (Sonnet)

and typed the wrong manufacture instead.

I've read about the Saab Sonnets and seen a few pictures on my old

camera phone but never seen it in an article before.

I have to say I was very impressed with the design :)

Think that.40 overbore adds much power to the L-24?

How much overbore is needed for the 3.0 conversion?

You know, the one MSA sells to increase displacement or

is that just a matter of increase the stroke.

The stroker requires an over bore of .060" along with the LD28 crank, L24 rods, KA24 pistons w/a 1mm flycut as well as a lot of other machine shop work to be a 3 liter (2998cc). Most of the ones I've seen are bored .120" resulting in 3.1 litre (3098cc).

Here is the article about the car from Road & Track; February 1997. Nissan reprinted the article as part of the Vintage Z program literature. This car was done prior to the program like the Hemmings article says. Do you all think this is the same car?

Hi Stephen

Many thanks for making the effort to post a scan of the article in question.

Hi Chris

Does seem to be the same car IMO. Owners name in both articles is Todd and, from memory as I havent read the article which you posted for some time, it mentions that Pierre arranged a set of original style wheels and hubcaps, along with air filter etc, in order to prep the car for the article which you have posted.

I was very glad to see that Stephen had no trouble at all at getting it up for us.

  • 2 weeks later...

Has to be the same car - the name "Frazier" is in both articles.

On another note, I posted a new thread about the February 2002 issue of Classic & Sports Car Magazine. Anyone have that?

It has an article that pits the 240Z against a 911 and a Dino 246...curious if someone can post it....
