Phacade Posted November 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2007 Just curious here, as it'll likely be a few years before the wife gives a favorable nod towards me getting a Z again, I know the white interior was something of a rarity; but did it come in the auto only or did it come in the manual 70-78s as well? ...and was it just '70-'78 or was it limited to a specific run of years? Go240Zags Posted November 14, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 14, 2007 I don't believe it mattered which type of tranny came in the car as far as interior color.
Sailor Bob Posted November 14, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 14, 2007 Probably not, but there is one listed on ebay today - 72 Auto Orange - white interior. Nice Car.

Bonzi Lon Posted November 15, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 15, 2007 It was my understanding that the vinyl color or the vinyl name was changed for the 73 from white to "off white". Correct me if I am wrong, because I have never heard it refered to "beige" even though it exists in Carl's list. In my opinion, as a person trained in color nomenclature (gemologist), what I have would be placed in the darker white catagory than the lighter brown.Bonzi Lon
twsutt Posted November 15, 2007 Share #9 Posted November 15, 2007 I used to own a red '77 280z 2+2 with a standard transmission that started its life with gold paint and "off-white" interior.

I saw a color swatch from Nissan and they called it Parchment. Les at Classic Datsun has it in both diamond, seat covers and interior plastic. I have that color in my 73. dade280 Posted November 15, 2007 Share #11 Posted November 15, 2007 My 77 interior looks white. Maybe more of an off white.
kurtwwalters Posted November 15, 2007 Share #12 Posted November 15, 2007 I am going white on white for my 72. Interior was originally red. The interior white is a little off-white. The white paint I want to go with is a pearl off-white like is on the 90s Cadillacs - with the 240Z decal down the running boards. I finally found the white window cranks on Ebay not long ago.
