White/Blue 1970 on ebay

Thought this might be of interest. As is, the car is at $750 (no bids). Located in Albuquerque, NM. Nasty front end damage, but doesn't look insurmountable. Interior is fairly well shot, dash doesn't look bad.

Thought someone out there might like this one for parts.

I e-mailed the seller to find out what the VIN number is. In the unlikely event it's a sub-500, I'll bid and if I win, I'll drive down and get it, it's only 6 hours south of here!

Hey Steve, I got the VIN from the seller yesterday. It is #2936, so I would guess a March or early April 1970. The rear plastic interior panel doesn't have tailight access holes, so I could tell it was a fairly early car. I like the blue interiors and would really like to have a car with one some day.

FWIW from the pictures, it appears to have a later transmission (5 speed?)based on the shift lever shape and the carbs appear to be something other than original SUs. It would be nice to know a little more history, the VIN and engine numbers.

Edit, Thanks for the VIN update Mike B

Thanks, Mike. Well, it's not the sub-500 that I hoped for, but it's still an early '70. I agree with you, I would like to see someone save this car and restore her. Since it's an Albuquerque car, it probably doesn't have much rust (except for small amount that the seller mentions plus the front end where it was wrecked and the bare metal was left to the elements). I like the blue interior also, my latest project is the white /blue combo as well.

Looks like the car sold for the $750.00 minimum with 1 bid. I sure hope the buyer plans to restore the car and not part it out.

Buyer has a feedback score of 2466 99.9% positive...in Cable, Ohio...seems to like parting out Triumphs and other Brit-mobiles...maybe he's seen the light....
