November 23, 200717 yr comment_229490 I did not speak to the seller. I watch Craigslist as well and saw that car come up. His advertisement was different than the one you posted. He was asking $2500 for a non-op car or $4500 if he had it fixed. November 23, 200717 yr comment_229496 Hell, I was looking to get around $2500. for my non-op and it's rust free and comes with all sorts of goodies. I was going to let it go with the triples, 2 e-88's, 2 headers, 2 sets of new pistons, mallory with a pertronix convertion, 2 cranks, yada, yada, yada. I figuered I better keep it and try to finish it. November 23, 200717 yr Author comment_229528 Now I'm convinced, you guys in California (and Arizona) don't know how good you have it. Rust-free Zcars go for A LOT MORE everywhere else!! November 24, 200717 yr Author comment_229601 "Rust Free?" Is there such a thing as a rust free car? (Not in Indiana obviously....)They do exist. There are also a number of "low-rust" Zs. Here's another one located in the Golden State that would make an excellent project car:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/72-datsun-240z-Classic-straight-body-excellent-engine_W0QQitemZ320186548082QQihZ011QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26311-california-zs/?&page=2#findComment-229601 Share on other sites
November 24, 200717 yr comment_229602 "Rust Free?" Is there such a thing as a rust free car? (Not in Indiana obviously....)Yeah, they do exist. Best bets for truly rust free are low mileage one or two owner cars that have been garaged all their life, preferably here out West. They can take some effort and/or luck to find, though.I have one, in my case it was luck. Any guesses on what that rear bumper is from? Also i noticed not one pic of any of the typical rust prone areas. November 25, 200717 yr comment_229650 The guy in this ad: http://sandiego.craigslist.org/car/488241577.html changed his price AGAIN. He was $2500, then $4500, now he is at $6900. He threatens to use the pay classifieds and ASK FOR MORE.
