Dave:

Shouldn't all this "communication" that only serves to "bump" the thread be done via PM's?

This post already goes beyond what the non-commercial posting rules state and this "bumping" makes it SPAM.

Should we allow the 8gb camera sellers and all the other spammers free access as well?

???

Unlike Spammers, I actually try to serve a purpose around here. Along with the occasional previous purchases of CZC items, I also plan on a decent size, if not many, donations to the site over the next few months. I spread the word about ClssicZcars to EVERY Z car driver I meet.

I can't begin to tell ya how much this feels like I'm being Scalded like a child. I guess I figured that after 100's of post praising me for my contributions to the Zcar world, I'd have a little leeway. But figuring is like assuming and we all know what that does.

As for PM'ing, 99% of people who order from me, fail to mention their screen-name, where they found the ordering info, or even something as simple as their email address. I usually only get a name, address, and what they want, and the usuall "Thank You for all that you do and have done for the Z car community" statement. And that, with the exception of being able to pay some bills and buy the occasional gift for the car, kids, and wife, Is the Main reason I do what I do.

I am a Man of Many, many talents. There's almost nothing I can't do, if I really put my mind to it. Because of these many talents, I now have a great car, wife, kids, family, and friends, some who I've never met in person. I would never say that I am a great contribution to this web-site. I believe that would be rude and snobbish of me. And besides, I have 100's of personal letters and 100's of posts here on this site as well as a few other sites that say that for me.

I'd hate to think that I'm being called a "Spammer" after all the better things that have been said about me. Camera sellers are here for themselves, I'm here for the people of this site. I get asked questions about how they can fix their electrical problems and I answer them, to the best of my knowledge. Ya won't find a camera salesman doing that, will ya?

So is this one of the last post's I'll be able to post here, or am I being Warned? Sorry, I just don't understand how I pissed in your Cheerios from here.

Dave.

To add some "technical discussion" about this product ... I received my side marker conversion adapter and installed it today (and left a review in the Product Review forum). I did have one installation glitch.

Pay attention to the caution in the instructions about assuring that your side marker is insulated from the fender. In my case, one side marker was properly inserted in the rubber insulator, but at some point in the past (probably when it was in the paint shop), an oversize screw had been used to secure the side marker to the fender. This oversize screw was making contact with the metal part of the side marker, thus grounding it to the fender. Until the right screw is found, I drilled the hole in the side marker a bit larger, put some shrink tubing on the shank of the screw, and I was back in business.

So, if you have a problem with the install, check that your mounting screws aren't grounding the marker to the fender ...

Great point Wayne,

I was wondering if someone would have an issue with the screw touching the metal of the housing and grounding it out. As soon as I started reading your responce I immediately thought about heat-shrink and widening the housing hole for clearance. And You must have read my mind, or Vise-Versa.

Heat shring is available at almost any auto parts store and you could even use a small diameter drinking straw to isolate the screw from the housing.

Great solution to a simple but hidden issue Wayne,

Dave.

I guess I should update this thread every so often to keep everybody up to date on parts, prices and availability. So here ya go...........

All of my upgrades are still available and better than before.

All four electrical upgrades are now "Plug-N-Play"

The HLH or Head Light Upgrade harness is still $125 and only for the 240Z with white square connectors in front of the radiator.

The PLH or Parking Light Upgrade Harness is now $50 and is "Plug-N-Play" for ALL 240Z's (with the 6-pin combo switch connector)

ALL 260Z's and the early 280Z's with the square 9-pin connector on the combo switch.

The ZXP is still $15 and for the 240Z ONLY. The ZXP allows you to Upgrade your 40 amp alternator to an internally regulated 60 amp 280ZX alternator.

The SCP's are still $25 and for the 240Z's ONLY. The SCP turns your front sidemarkers into blinkers when the turn signals are used. The 240Z front turn signals are too low to be usefull but the SCP allows others, on the side of you to see your turn signals blink. A great safety feature. you get 2, one for each side (L+R)

The CTS Service is now $60. The CTS is a Combo and turn signal switch service where I completely rebuild your switches as a pair. I do my best to bring them back to OEM specs, regrease everything, repaint when needed and replace worn parts to make your switches look their best and Operate like they are supposed to.

I still offer the .....

LED side markers lights for $80

LED Front marker light conversion for $125

LED Taillight conversion for $250 for 240Z's and $300 for 260/280Z's

All the prices above include return shipping so the price you see is the price you pay. I also offer multiple item discounts, just ask me.
