Would it work

I am planing an FI L28 and almost settle for the SU TBI.

It's a f54+p90 combo milled 1 mm + rally cam. 280ZX EI. 6/2/1 exhaust.

I figure if this combo work well with Ztherapy SU it should perform even better on SU TBI.

Yet

I also have a spare canon style manifold with 3 dirty Dellortos 45 that I would not trust to use as carb again.

I also have a spare 280ZX manifold.

Do you think that welding the canon manifold on the zx base and using the Delortos without anything else but the butterfly and TPS would make a workable set-up, with MS of course.

Or just drill the cannon for injectors????

A sleeper SU TBI is fun, a sleeper 3 Delortos TBI would be awesome

Define"should perform even better" with an SU TBI

Having a the tunability of modern EFI tech like megaskirt alow you to get multiples maps for different use... Today we where autocrossing in the rain with a 3,1 monster on 45 dellortos... No way to pass the HP on the wet... on EFI you could map a rain setup...

I think the SU TBI on the std manifold would work "even" better than even the Ztherapy, it's like having 10 needles switchables on the fly :)

But I like so much the look of the triples

imo, it would work like a normal injection system, except the fuel/air mix while going into the butterfly's or somethin. there's a guy that tested his dune buggy's injectino system by just hanging an injector above a single barrel carb (with the fuel to the carb disconnected) and it seemed to run fine.

I don't see any reason why you can't build them like that.

Another one of those 'there's a guy'/'seemed to run fine' type stories. Think about the inherent tuning problems in the sceneaio you mention.

As for that Cartech system that Fred posted in the original post, I have a friend who has the entire working system with tech manual for sale. He had it on his 71Z but when he gave it to his son he removed it. When it was on the Z it worked great, not sure how much boost he ran but his son always said it was not enough.
