November 25, 200717 yr comment_229629 G-nose Z.. Uh. No..... Were these kit cars? When I first looked at it, I thought 'looks like an Airacobra fighter plane'. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26336-new-to-me/#findComment-229629 Share on other sites
November 25, 200717 yr comment_229630 Definitely a resemblance with the gnose, at least from that angle. I tried to save some of the photos from the ebay page, but wasn't allowed to due to copyright stuff...However, here is a link to the Intermeccanica page: http://www.intermeccanica.org/vehicles/griffith/griffith.htmIt is a beautiful car, though the roof seems a little odd to me. November 25, 200717 yr comment_229636 Not a kit car. Intermeccanica made a few models and the Omega is buy far the rarest of all. They were best known for the Italia. Sweet cars all of them. Did it have an influence on the Z, maybe but not more than most any 60's-70's sports cars. The long nose 2 seat sports car was nothing new, it's was the $3500 price tag on a car that had true performance that made the "Z" special. November 25, 200717 yr Author comment_229637 To save the copyright photos just click on them to enlarge first. I agree on the roofs need for an aquired taste. The car does scream mid '60's Italian design. I do like the roof on this design sketch. Would be nice as a hatchback too. Nice design for something conceived in the early '60's. Money wise, you could have bought 2 nicely equiped Mustangs for what one of these cost when new. It will be interesting to see what it sells for.
