November 27, 200717 yr comment_229887 is the pump supposed to come on and stay on when the ignition is in the on position. and as well when its in the on position and i manually open the air flow meter gate? if its not, which relay is failing? You were on to something there I think. There is a fuel-pump cutoff located in the AFM, this circuit is typically closed while the engine is off/no air is flowing (mine doesn't work this way for whatever reason however)So, in other words, no, the fuel pump is not supposed to come on just by having the key in the 'on' positionAlso, I let my car sit with an empty gas tank for about 6 months also and never had a problem getting the pump re-primed. The FI pump is supposed to be self-priming. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26343-why-no-pressure/?&page=2#findComment-229887 Share on other sites
