Posted November 26, 200717 yr comment_229744 I have two problems with the electrical system. The first has to do with the turn signals. When I turn the switch one way, both lights blink. Only one turn signal is illuminted in the dash though. I'm lost here...The other thing is the tach. When I turn the key on it pegs high and stays there. 73 240zAny suggestions?Rich Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26348-two-problems-here/ Share on other sites
November 26, 200717 yr comment_229754 Yeah, your tach is bad internally. It will need to be replaced, as so far no one has successfully repaired one.As for the turn signals, I suspect a bad turn signal switch. November 26, 200717 yr comment_229755 If you are up to it, just swap the tach out for a 280z tach and switch the 280z faceplate with the 240z faceplate. You will have to do a little bit of rewiring as the tachs operate off of slightly different signals, but it eliminates the troublesome inductive loop on the 240z tachs. November 26, 200717 yr comment_229760 A '73 240Z should not have the inductive loop. It should be a three-wire tach. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26348-two-problems-here/#findComment-229760 Share on other sites

November 26, 200717 yr comment_229762 A '73 240Z should not have the inductive loop. It should be a three-wire tach. Not necessarily. A 4 wire Tach is more common on these...except for the LATE year 73's.E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26348-two-problems-here/#findComment-229762 Share on other sites
