Pricing advice

So I posted a set of front seats in the classified section a few weeks ago. 68 views but no contact. Is $250.00 over priced for a set of real nice front seats? If not, I am assuming that I just need someone local here in San Diego to see the ad.

Thanks for any advice.

FWIW, there's a person on ebay who regularly sells new vinyl seats (the entire cover) for Zs for a starting price of $140 for the set. I know that's not the same thing as buying a complete seat, but if my seats were in good condition except for the vinyl, I'd think that $250 was a bit high.

Add the cost of shipping such a bulky item, and you're really limited to folks in SoCal, where market prices for not just whole Zs, but reasonably "common" parts, are lower than the rest of the country. The fact they are 280z (not 240Z or even S1 240Z) seats further limits interested parties at that pricepoint.

You may get more action on Craigslist or (eek) EBay, but prepared to negotiate down your price.

Iwouls have been interested in them a couple months ago. I rebuilt mine, new upholstery kit ($180) and new seat foam ($198), hog rings and a pair of hog ring pliers ($12). They turned out pretty nice, a couple little "waves" around the side bolsters but look a helluvalot better than they did, and feel twice as good too. I contemplated buying a used set somewhere for the same price range, (miata, s2000) but couldnt touch a nice pair for that price. I looked at all the "sport seats" on Ebay as well, the ones for $99 a pair plus $200 shipping :)

I finally decided to stay with stock and recover/refoam them.

Shipping would be pretty steep on seats, you might have better luck throwing them up on ebay, letting some people duke it out on price and ship at actual cost.
