i got screwed on ebay a couple weeks ago. it was also kinda my fault too. i got a bumper off ebay from a 240z. the thing is i forgot to ask what year it was off of. when i got it, it didn't fit. then i just remembered that the bumpers on 73's and later where different.:stupid:. i have a '72. so....is there any way i can make that bumper fit on a '72? i want it to fit close to the body like how my old bumper did, before it was damaged.

I thought the 72 and 73 bumpers are the same - but the mounting brackets are different (some one please correct me...) If this is the case....use the 72 brackets on the 73 bumper....

It can work; it is all in the brackets. The brackets will have to have the holes redrilled by about a 1/2 inch so that the bumper will fit tight to the body. I am the owner of a 73 and have done it. Taking off those big heavy 73 brackets is simple. I would keep all the parts just in case for some strange reason you think about going back to the way it was. I will not but still have them just in case.

I asked the same question that Montezuma answered at HybridZ. I have a '73 and want to use the '73 bumpers in the earlier model position. I just need the pre-'73 brackets from what I understand and a small amount of mod. I plan to fill all holes and paint the bumper since I got a quote of $375+ to fill holes and rechrome my bumper. What do ya think... Artic White body, Gloss silver bumpers?
