MEZZZ Posted December 7, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2007 I have a '77 that I got a couple months ago. I have been pondering what to do with the "New York Taxi Cab" bumpers on it. I really dont like the looks of the MSA kits, I think the back especially looks to squared off. Then I looked into doing the 240 bumper swap, possibly using the fiberglass bumpers on MSA. Then one day while staring at the car, I wondered if it would be possible to just move the existing bumpers in tighter and cut and redo the rubber bumper ends. I found this car on Ebay a couple days ago and asked the seller if he would be kind enough to send me a close up of the bumpers. I kinda like it! It definitely tightens up the look. Exdamyankee Posted December 7, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 7, 2007 It looks 100% better than the "taxi" bumpers, I agree! I think it's an OK compromise if you don't want to migrate to 240 bumps and don't like the MSA kit. I went with the MSA kit on my '74, and outside of the looks, which I like, the main benefit is the weight reduction. Those big bumpers and their accompanying front & rear shock absorbers weigh a lot more than the 240 bumpers or the 'glass body kit.But again, these pics looks a heck of a lot better than the stock configuration!
