Weather stripping at the window shop

Now, I am most likely going to take my 240 to a shop to get the rear window put in. Question that I have is do I need to order the weather stripping and take it in with the car and window? Or would it be recommended to do so?

I know that it is a silly question, but always better to ask anyways.

I think it is unlikely that a window shop would stock a window seal for a 35+ year old 240Z. They may be able to order it, but it would probably be easier if you just provide your own, or better yet, just install it yourself. I have done it and it is not that difficult. You could always give them a call and ask.

Putting it in is pretty easy from what I've been told, once it's out. I'd think with having to install the chrome in the rubber before installation, doing it yourself would be the way to go. To fix my defroster I'm doing this as well--I'm also tinting the window so that's why I'm taking it out when I fix the defroster.

Went to Ace Hardware and got some kits and weatherstripping things, would that work as an interim solution to keep water out? Actually bought truckloads of possibilities thinking it would be viable.

It just seems to me that we should have creative alternatives to keeping out the rains, no?
