August 15, 200222 yr comment_12979 The one's on mine are off a Ford Escort. Nice and compact, cheap and good quality (one of the only quality bits you will find on an Escort ). I reckon they suit the car, too. Did America get the Escort? If not the same mirrors were fitted to a bunch of different Fords over here, so maybe they were fitted to something over there as well Can post pics if you want. August 15, 200222 yr comment_12987 Avoid at all costs the MSA mirrors. While ordering, I spoke with my rep on the phone and questioned him specifically: "Are these crappy mirrors? Will they vibrate around? Will they get loose? Are the mounts BS?" He assured me they were of quality mettle. REALITY: these are equal to IF NOT CHAPER THAN the $h1t you can buy at Kragen or whatever... Miserable, useless, junk mirrors.steve77 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2646-side-view-mirrors/#findComment-12987 Share on other sites
August 15, 200222 yr comment_12991 I am also on the hunt for mirrors. I would like something chrome like the stock mirrors that fit both sides. I have considered putting a stock mirror on backwards but am still looking at other options. Rob, we in the US did not get the Ford Escort until the late '70 or early '80s as a front wheel drive econo box. Not the warrior rally Escorts of the early '70s which is what you are probably referring to. I saw the pictures of you motor, very nice setup, but do you have any of the mirrors on your car to share? Thanks, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2646-side-view-mirrors/#findComment-12991 Share on other sites
August 17, 200222 yr comment_13239 I'm with Rob, I've got a pair of the Escort mirrors as they only cost $20 from the junk yard, are compact and sleek and your can paint them body coloured with no hassles. I think they came on Cortina's and the Aussie Falcons too, but I can't be sure as mine were actually on a Gemini Panelvan when I found them On this thread though, what do stock mirrors look like? I've found three differant variants and the two Zed's I've had have different mirrors anyway? Anyone with photo's on this would be great, just for interest sake. Cheers, R.
