72ZDave Posted December 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 10, 2007 I finally got some time to work on my Z and pulled the interior out. I bought the car in August and it's been in a barn since 1987ish. Here's some pics of the inside and what I found under the seats. Didn't know Sonic sold cigarettes. I got the lighter to fire up with some persistence! The bracket on the transmission tunnel was for the C.B. The tool kit looks to be original and all there. What did you find under the seat of your Z when you were tearing apart?
Fun_in_my_z Posted December 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 10, 2007 Nice to see another Arkansan. I found $6.00 and a socket seat in my 300zx. But when i looked under the seat of my 240z, I seen the ground!

BRE-240Z Posted December 10, 2007 Share #4 Posted December 10, 2007 Love the white interior, by the way. Are you going to keep it?
72ZDave Posted December 10, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted December 10, 2007 Yes, plan on keeping the white interior. I'm planning on a blue exterior. I have the carpet ordered as well as some misc parts, but still need to order the seat covers. All the plastic pieces were broke and extremely brittle, guess I'll have to replace all of those. 280z1975 Posted December 10, 2007 Share #6 Posted December 10, 2007 I found an old Smurf Toy and about 2 dollars of change (mostly from the 70's and 80's) ... since the car was "free" that means I was paid 2 dollars for the car ... then again the last time I totaled up all my receipts for the car says otherwise :tapemouth

zman525 Posted December 10, 2007 Share #8 Posted December 10, 2007 I've found some weird things under the seats of vehicles I've bought. I've found real heavy duty hand cuffs, some mini tapes for a tape recorder which always seem to have something bizzare on them. When i bought my 240, i found a whole tuneup package (new condenser, rotor, cap, plugs, wires, and an oil filter)i love going through cars u just bought, its always a mystery. 76Datsun280z Posted December 10, 2007 Share #9 Posted December 10, 2007 Cool thread! When I first got mine, I found a couple really old cigarettes, lots of pennies and best of all the original green 4 speed metal top to the orginal shift knob which I thought was pretty cool. Zak's Z Posted December 10, 2007 Share #10 Posted December 10, 2007 I found a few washers, a snake-skin shedding, a rusty screwdriver, a few coins, and several rotting pieces of paper soaked in what looks like some sort of soda or coffee.
DatsunZsRule Posted December 11, 2007 Share #11 Posted December 11, 2007 Isn't it amazing the junk you find from previous owners? Mine was pretty clean. All I found in mine was a cigarette lighter and a receipt from a gas station where he bought gas, food, and a car wash
