gryt57 Posted December 12, 2007 Author Share #13 Posted December 12, 2007 I ran the tests for the Water Temperature Sensor. My first reading was too low so I pulled the sensor and cleaned the corroded connectors, reinstalled and it read perfectly. I hope this helps with my engine running rich. Also, after starting the Idle has come down. I think im starting to understand how all of the systems work with the fuel injection and with eachother to aid in start up or overall system performance. So I want to say that since my WTS is now working properly and it is reading water temperatures it is interacting with the engine it is leaning out the mixture after warm up. Whereas before it was not working and not reading the water temps and then sending the message to lean out the mixture causing it to run rich. Let me know if im right, kinda right, or wrong . Thanks again
sblake01 Posted December 12, 2007 Share #14 Posted December 12, 2007 That's basically it. It works on resistance. The resistance decreases as the water temperature rises leaning the mixture and shortening duration of the injector pulse. A bad connection is almost like having no water temp sensor.
