26th-Z Posted December 15, 2007 Share #25 Posted December 15, 2007 Hi Carl, I mean the mounting "hardware". Nuts, bolts, screws, washers, and brackets. As I said before, I don't know if the trim rings are chromed or what. What I DO know is that side-by-side the difference cannot be distinguished. I do not believe that the "MSA" type of lenses will fit inside the "JDM" trim ring. Yes, headlight covers could be purchased in America by part number. I do not think the dealers ever installed them as they are / were illegal in most States. The last year for headlight covers on imported cars in the USA was 1967. '67 Jaguar XKEs and Alfa Romeo Duetto imports had headlight covers. They did not in 1968. Hear are some pictures for you all Merry Christmas Chris

hls30.com Posted December 15, 2007 Share #28 Posted December 15, 2007 It will fit on the aftermarket covers, and probably look better than the black they typically come with-depending on the color of your car...I might have to try a set as well-the narrower chrome ring may look better. Will
Darbji280z Posted December 26, 2007 Share #29 Posted December 26, 2007 hmmm.. how does one know for certain they are JDM original equipment? Mine are good aftermarket ones from Datsun Spirit, and they look just like those in the pics.Is there something etched on the plastic or other markings?Does Datsun Spirit still exist? I can't find them anywhere... I guess I should let this go. My boyfriend already bought the MSA ones for me for Christmas. Anyway, they are gorgeous. I wish I could have found them. psdenno Posted January 20, 2008 Share #33 Posted January 20, 2008 I have a set of headlight covers & trim rings, but no mounting hardware. I'd like to mount them with the factory style mounting plates. Could someone with a set of the original mounting hardware please post the dimensions of one of the eight metal mounting plates that screws to the headlight bucket - length, width, & thickness? Thanks!
hls30.com Posted January 20, 2008 Share #34 Posted January 20, 2008 I'll see about getting the dimensions for you, but hardware pics are on my gallery if that helps. Will
psdenno Posted January 20, 2008 Share #35 Posted January 20, 2008 Thanks, Will. I checked the pictures but would still like the dimensions, if possible - especially thickness. I appreciate the help.Dennis
