Posted December 14, 200717 yr comment_231352 1975 280z no power to electric fuel pump , jumped it with 12volts and turned on,checked fuses all are fine ,poured 2 oz of gas into fuel injector car cranked and ran until gas burned off -engine seems fine, there is no gas flowing from pump to injectors and yes ther is gas in the tank. Any advice? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26509-no-power-to-fuel-pumpall-fuses-are-fine/ Share on other sites
December 14, 200717 yr comment_231357 If you have checked the fuses with a multi meter and they are good then look for bad ground , then connectors that are corroded . from there look for broken power wire. Over the years I cannot tell you how many times we have looked at a fuse and it looked good when it wasn't and it caused us to go nuts trying to find another problem. When all along it was the fuse we looked at first. December 14, 200717 yr comment_231358 Check the fuses with the continuity setting of a multimeter OR you can use the lowest ohm setting....if value is 0 ohms or very close then the fuse is fine. If ohm value is huge or infinite then you have a broken fuse. December 14, 200717 yr comment_231360 does'nt that year 280Z have a fuel pump relay up front, in the engine compartment? I know the 260Z had something similar to that but I could be wrong.Dave. December 14, 200717 yr comment_231371 does'nt that year 280Z have a fuel pump relay up front, in the engine compartment? It does under the dash on the drivers side. Something that should be checked. Place your hand over it, turn the key to on and then to start and the relay should click. December 14, 200717 yr comment_231373 A 75-77 280Z would also have fuel pump contacts in the AFM as we discussed in a recent thread. Check to make sure that they're working. Look at the upper (75-77) chart. Also, scroll up to post #9 for pictures of the AFM.http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=238706&highlight=contacts#post238706 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26509-no-power-to-fuel-pumpall-fuses-are-fine/#findComment-231373 Share on other sites
