Hi all,

Looks like we had some issues with downtime the past few days. This time it appears that our UPS isn't quite up to the task of keeping the server online long enough during a power outage. The server went down after running the batteries dry and never came back from the dead.

I'm going to need to invest some cash on a remote power management card and possibly some new batteries to make sure the site will stay up longer. It might be time for a bigger UPS due to our more powerful server, so, that might also need to be in the plan.

Anyway, I apologize for the downtime. The server was out and I had no way of resetting the server remotely while I was out of town. :) This will be fixed soon.

It is at the end of periods when I do not have ready access to the Classic Z site that I appreciate the wealth of material and communication available to me 24 hours a day. I recently had a brake light problem and turned to the computer in the early early hours of the morning. Nailed the problem in five minutes and had it fixed another five minutes later. What a resource.

In addition to Mike, there are other people who, in various ways, contribute a lot of time and effort to this site. For someone like myself who lurks more than posts, the best contribution I can offer is to make an affordable donation.

Thanks Mike et al. This is quite a community.

I agree with the above. I was unable to get to the site for 3 days and started to get worried, LOL. Even though I am rather new, I have noticed that you guys have something special here, and I plan on donating to the cause. I do belong to a couple of car boards, but this is by far the more helpful boards around. You have some folks here that actually make me chuckle out loud, no easy task, and also offer some good sound advice. Kudos too you and everyone who contributes.

The old saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." applies here, at least for me, and several of the previous posters in this string. Mike has been providing us with a very valuable resource, and drawn a 'community' together whose 'personality' and collective knowledge is not surpassed anywhere on the Internet. Mike has also been very responsive to our needs and suggestions related to the site. He has not just set it up and turned his back and ignored our suggestions (as may be the case elsewhere). Not only that, but he has plans for future improvements.

This is without a doubt time consuming and expensive. Consider dropping a few dollars his way. The small contributions that we make all add up; a beach is nothing more that many, many individual grains of sand. Let's give Mike the resources he needs to continue to provide us with what we truly enjoy..... and that which we miss when it's not there.

Mike, again, thanks for all that you do....
