Posted December 28, 200717 yr comment_232259 Any idea what size/type are the lugnuts that will work with the Minilite mag wheels, the ones that require the flat bottom to the nut with a flat washer? Are they 12mmx1.25 or is that just the stock 1971 240Z lugnut size?Mine are all rusted and I'd love to get another set of lug nuts.Thank you. December 28, 200717 yr comment_232262 12mm x 1.25P is the standard wheel stud dimension for a Z.Unless they have been changed sometime that is the specs. of the nut you need. The difficult part most likely is to get the flat shoulder with washer setup that the wheels require:( Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26594-lug-nut-size-for-minilite-mags-on-71-z/#findComment-232262 Share on other sites

December 28, 200717 yr comment_232267 What you have to watch is the length of the shaft, on the lug nuts for mags. Measure your old one's and replace them with the exact same length if possible. Sometimes it is no longer possible because the industry is now making only two or three standard lengths. In that case you have to get as close as possible, then use extra thick washers or two thin one's - if the lug shaft is too long.Just make sure the lug shaft with the washer installed - does not stick through the thickness of the wheel.FWIW,Carl B. December 29, 200717 yr comment_232332 Good advice Carl! I just put American Racing Libre's on my Z and I went out and bought new mag wheel lug nuts (wheels didn't come with them). After I put the first one on, I noticed the nuts were too long. There was still play between the wheel and the hub. As Carl so apply points out, you will only find two kinds in most any of the after market auto parts store and they may not work. I ended up going to a very large specialty wheel store in So Cal. They had a bag full of the nuts with the shorter shaft, so I bought a complete set.Suggest if you can't find them at your normal Autozone, Cragin's etc. give a specialty wheel retailer a try.Good luck!Bob Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26594-lug-nut-size-for-minilite-mags-on-71-z/#findComment-232332 Share on other sites

May 12, 200816 yr comment_247054 Looking for same thing myself. Did Tire America come up with the correct lug nuts? If they worked would like to know and if you have a part number it would be a big help. September 24, 201212 yr Author comment_402530 No they didn't.Did get a non-matching set, 8 of one style, 8 of another style that were very close. It was close enough to win a class in a show, one style on one side, the other on the opposite ;-)I finally got my old ones rechromed (very spendy).Looking for same thing myself.
