April 1, 200817 yr comment_242576 Hey,I've run a 240z in the southeast and the best advice I can give you is:If you want to learn how to drive, buy a already built car.If you want to learn how to build, buy an already built car and take it apart and put it back together. If you want to waste your time and money, build a car and watch it sit in the garage for years. And by the time you finish, the rules have changed or your car is outdated.Go to the track, offer to help work on someone's car under their direction to learn the basics. They'll help you find a good car when you are ready. And buy it for cash at the track, right then and there. And the most important rule is, if you can't afford to replace it, you can't afford to race it.Just go up to any team and ask; "Can I help?"If they act like jerks, they probably are so pass them by.Most would be glad for the help. As long as you're not drunk or stupid.Just my 2 cents.Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26605-i-am-starting-my-racing-career/?&page=4#findComment-242576 Share on other sites
