So sorry to hear about the accident, I really hope you feel better soon.

As E and Jimmy already said, don't sign anything just yet.

Some 20 years ago I was in a car accident caused by another person. I was hurt a little so I went to the hospital to get checked out, just in case.

Then, I fought hard to get them to pay up on my car. When we finally agreed on an amount, the adjuster offered to bring the check to my work. In a moment of stupidity, and needing the money to buy another car, I ended up getting the settlement check and signing for a $500 limit on medical.

Later I received some additional hospital bills that the $500 limit just covered. It was then I realized I had made a big mistake as any further medical problems could far exceed any money I had.

Settle on the car (per the others already excellent advice), don't settle on the medical.

If you can, get an attorney. Otherwise see us here on the board. I for one will help with what I can.

Most importantly, get well soon. We love you.

I hope you're okay -- you can replace a car, even a Z, but we can't replace you. Listen to all the good advice that's been offered here and get well soon.

At least it wasn't one of the Hyundai's or the Z. Nice to hear your okay. Man, after everyone else saying that it really doesn't have that good of a ring to it....Least your still kickin'?? Is that better?

Thanks everyone for your concern. And yes, it was Nitro, my baby. She's been toatled and I will buy her back and slowly repair. As for me, I am in a metric ton of pain and the Soma they gave me hasn't done anything at all. I have a bunch of phyisical therapy and doctor's visits in my future. They offered me $3500 if they take her and $3000 if I keep her (and I most certianly will) The estimate came to almost $6000. They offered me a mere $400 for my "pain and suffering" I guess they don't realize that I do not sleep any more due to the tremendous pain I'm in. Oh well. I don't think it would have hurt any more if it were the Z. I love them like they were my children. All of them. And now I feel dead inside. Everyone tells me that she's just a car... but it still hurts like I've lost a loved one. I suppose time will heal my sorrow and the good thing is that I still have my life.

Please remind me that I still have my Kharma.
