Obewon Posted January 8, 2008 Share #25 Posted January 8, 2008 Get well soon. Sometimes insurance companies are only looking out for themselves. A good lawyer perhaps? And you still have my Kharma.
red_dog007 Posted January 8, 2008 Share #26 Posted January 8, 2008 You really need to pressure your insurance company to give you all of your benefits. Have proof like bills and what not, and demand money from them. If it gets to the point, start calling corporate, and even threaten about a lawyer. Once that comes around, they will give in and give you all of your benefits, because if they don't they will just loss in court if you really do need to take it that far.Did the hit end up throwing the car pretty far? That really had to hurt a LOT. Hope that you get better soon. Maybe you could just junk the car, and put that $3,500 into your Z or one of the other cars that you have. The loss of a car sucks, but it will save you some funds for the remaining babies.

1 Bravo 6 Posted January 8, 2008 Share #28 Posted January 8, 2008 Hey there Lady,I'm very sorry to hear of your accident. I think we can all sympathize with you over the loss of your car. (I cried when I parted company with my 1963 EJ Holden Sedan).Intense pain and I are old friends so can honestly say that I know how you feel.Whatever you do, (as other members have already advised), don't let the insurance company bulldoze you into accepting a pittance as a consolation. Take the buggers for everything you can get and then ask for more. Those organizations don't CARE about individual pain and suffering and loss. They just want to get out of the situation as cheaply as possible.Thankfully, you've retained your good looks.Keep your chin up girl,Rick.:devious::devious:
Darbji280z Posted January 8, 2008 Author Share #29 Posted January 8, 2008 Well, I haven't settled with the insurance company just yet, however I think I we will be able to agree on something. I am buying the car back and I am going to save some money by doing the repairs myself. I could never let her go. We've been together for six years and have been through everything. I went to see her today and brought an expert (my brother) and we decided that it's doable. So Nitro's recovery will be slow but it will be done. Now, I am in the search for a piece of crap that's maybe been wrecked in the front to buy and take parts from. In the meanwhile, I'm going to buy an o2 sensor and get my pink Hyundai running for me to drive to work. Then I will be able to give back that wretched Grand Prix rental. So I guess it's all going to work out. I have more doctor visits and such to endure for the next couple of months. But that's no big deal. Thanks for helping me through this, guys. You've been more help that you can imagine.
Rick Q. Posted January 9, 2008 Share #30 Posted January 9, 2008 Darbji , I was in a auto accident back in Sept. initially I was told by the ER Doctors go home , then back to work in 2 days. The long story short: I have both a torn and a herniated disk , dislocated jaw etc.. I will be back to work probably in July. Next month they will take two disk out and screw in a metal box to connect the neck to the rest of the spine. These injuries become progressively worse , invest in yourself. Find a top notch Neurologist to order MRI and exam your back etc.. Do not assume you are ok , get checked out. Do not accept $$ or sign insurance co. papers. I am in N.J. so I can not recommend a lawyer . Call the Indianna Bar Assoc. and ask for the top personnal injury attorney in your state. Protect yourself , the insurance co. is looking for a quick ,cheap end to this. I hate to be a downer but your car was hit hard , your neck had to have snapped back quickly. I do not want to take up anymore space here if you need any more info., contact me at lightimages@optonline.netTake care , hopefully I am off the wall and you are ok.-RickMODERATOR - SORRY for off topic, but this important info . for anyone who drives. BTW- the accident is why I started surfing for Z sites. Now I can not wait to buy a series 1 down the road , lets see.

Hope the pain goes away quickly.I wish it was. I love my Neon. And besides, if it were the Delorean, I'd get a big fat check and I wouldn't have to rebuild engines for it anymore. Bonzi Lon Posted January 18, 2008 Share #35 Posted January 18, 2008 I was also rear ended about 20 years ago and still find myself looking in the rear view mirror whenever I slow to turn left or stop waiting to turn left. (use of turn signals is a must) I think you will be looking also, if not already.Bonzi Lon
