WingZr0 Posted January 15, 2008 Share #13 Posted January 15, 2008 Geeze TomoHawk, you may be putting ideas in thier head, as we type, with your humor!!! You may be right, however, they're doing this after the year they go banrupt, so it seems to me Ford is trying any angle to make a buck right now.... Ford went Bankrupt??? I heard they were falling into 3rd place but dang !
justinr54321 Posted January 15, 2008 Share #14 Posted January 15, 2008 Ford went Bankrupt??? I heard they were falling into 3rd place but dang !Yeah, Ford, Chevy and Dodge are part of the GM chain, and the sales of GM cars in general have been declining for years, and GM in general had to declare bankruptcy because of this, and they've had to even shut down a few dealerships and what not. Sad it is, but the imports have slowly been takng over because they are, overall, better cars than the GM's. After all, look at the Z cars... Not Ford, not GM, not even Chrysler. They simply restructured. And Ford and GM are now both doing better than they have been over the past few years, with each company turning a profit finally. However, things are more bleak for Chrysler. They've ****ed things up pretty bad, but I think even they will survive. And no, Ford and Chrysler are not part of any "GM chain," whatever the hell that is. JonnyRock Posted January 15, 2008 Share #16 Posted January 15, 2008 Yeah, Ford, Chevy and Dodge are part of the GM chainGM owns Chevy. Ford is it's own brand. Chrysler owns Dodge.
justinr54321 Posted January 15, 2008 Share #17 Posted January 15, 2008 Johnny, are you sure? Because General Motors usually refers to all the American car companies, and from what I understood, they restructured because of a bankruptcy. Aaaaa, its been too long ago, I don't exactly remember. I gotta do a search later when I have the time.
BRE-240Z Posted January 15, 2008 Share #18 Posted January 15, 2008 Lots of misinformation flying around in this thread....!Ford has not gone bankrupt, at least not yet. And no, you cannot lump all of the American car companies into one and call that 'General Motors'. General Motors is Chevrolet, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, etc.And no, GM is not bankrupt either. TomoHawk Posted January 15, 2008 Share #19 Posted January 15, 2008 What about the Z cars? You have to look really hard to find a car show thay features Z cars, almost nobody knows what it is, even if you put a sign in the windscreen, and to go to a Z car-related car show, you have to join a Z car club or go to a regional or national convention, which is usually hundreds of miles away.I once tried to enter a car show and wasn't allowed because it was for 'classic cars,' i.e. domestic cars.Justin-I got that stuff from the headline of that Mustang website, which is spelled, "Black*******Club." It's not too obvious what the name is.
JonnyRock Posted January 15, 2008 Share #20 Posted January 15, 2008 I am unequivocally %100 sure, and would bet my mother's life on it.General Motors (GM) is the largest auto company in the world. It owns the major brands Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick and Hummer.Ford Motor Company is the second largest American auto company and owns Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Volvo, Jaguar (for now) and until recently, Land Rover and Aston Martin.Chrysler LLC(formerly DiamlerChrysler) recently split from Diamler-Benz (Mercedes) to once again become an American company. It owns Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep.

justinr54321 Posted January 15, 2008 Share #22 Posted January 15, 2008 Ok, I did a search, and neither one went bankrupt, however they were close before their restructures. And Ford and GM are 2 seperate companies. Sorry for the confusion guys..
