sakijo Posted January 16, 2008 Share #28 Posted January 16, 2008 And Ford also owns a minority stake in Mazda.Actually, the Japanese government made Ford up their stake in Mazda and now they're the majority owner. Globalization at its best.
sblake01 Posted January 17, 2008 Share #29 Posted January 17, 2008 What is it that we should be worried about? That there's any chance that we would run into something like this with the Datsun logo? Considering the lack of concern that Nissan shows for anything 'Datsun', I don't think there's anything to worry about. And I don't even get this....sounds like one of fullhouse's posts:everything will be fine again... no need to worry????????????????????????????????????????????? JonnyRock Posted January 25, 2008 Share #31 Posted January 25, 2008 Actually, the Japanese government made Ford up their stake in Mazda and now they're the majority owner. Globalization at its best. It's still considered a minority stake, because Ford owns 33.9% now (previously it was 15%). Ford increased its ownership because Mazda was having financial problems, not so much a government requirement. And because it doesn't have over 50% it's not a majority. It is a controlling stake however.
