January 18, 200817 yr comment_234514 I planned on not touching my car until the snow melts. Last week it was 50 here and I wound up sanding the entire car down to metal. Today I stripped the rear of the interior. Unfortunately, I think I've got to the part where I have to start spending money. Around here the town is run by a "good old boys club". They use salting the roads to get overtime. It will be sunny out for days and they'll be dumping salt on the roads. There is literally so much salt on the roads it's like driving down a stoned road. Driving on it is hell, it's like trying to stop/turn on ball bearings. Needless to say, the salt isn't completely gone until about May. Then we have to put up with the farmers who track heaps a mud into the road....... I guess I should say "There is something to be said about old cars" The newer the car, the more of a pain in the arse they are Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26786-im-getting-the-itch-lol/?&page=2#findComment-234521 Share on other sites
January 18, 200817 yr comment_234548 I sit in the garage for hours wishing I could drive my Z. Meanwhile, with my Neon wrecked, I don't have anything that I can drive to work. A million cars and every one has a reason it can't be driven by me. But Kharma is the one that's killing me. I sat down inside her the other day and her smell really got to me. I said "I remember you!" And it was all that much harder to cover her back up and go inside. January 19, 200817 yr comment_234627 That makes two of us. Today it's 20 below here and was still dropping the last I checked :dead: This $^!# needs to GO AWAY:disappoinAccording to the weather reports that cold air is moving my direction... would you do me a favor and hang on to it for another couple of weeks? How about at least until I get this 5 speed installed in my car. I just can't get my garage more than about 25 degrees above ambient...If not, thanks for sharing. ;-) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/26786-im-getting-the-itch-lol/?&page=2#findComment-234627 Share on other sites

January 19, 200817 yr comment_234695 We are forcast for 45 cm of snow tonight/tomorrow. That's about a foot and a half in imperial measure. I'll be lucky to be able to get into the shed. February 22, 200817 yr comment_238208 Some may have the cold and snow to deal with but living in the Bay Area 20~30 miles outside of San Francisco, the earthquake known as the "big one" may hit at any moment so sayeth the doom sayers and scientists. So.... I drive my Z every chance I get! I feel for anyone dealing with the cold and the snow. My first vehicle I bought brand new was 30 days old and parked across the street from my apartment outside of Chicago. A neighbor knocked on my door to tell me someone had hit it and took off. He said they had revved their engine at the stop sign and started fish tailing as they gained momentum. The just missed a couple of cars on my side of the street before careening over and hitting my pickup just past the drivers side door. The only sign of them was their tire tracks which were quickly disappearing in the snow on the street.... and of course my ripped open truck bed! So much for worrying about the "first scratch"... Unfortunately the neighbor didn't get a license plate or make/model of the hit and run vehicle. The driver was never found. I was in the Military at the time and was glad to get orders back to Calif. 6 months later. I was more than ready to leave the cold and snow! I don't miss driving in it or shoveling it on a daily basis but I do occasionally drive up to the foothills and play in the snow...
